This Table Saison (4.0%) is a light version of the style, both in terms of alcohol content and colour; pale straw topped with a brilliant white head. As with all their beers, the flavour is anything but restrained and here we have a big fruity hit accompanied by more delicate floral notes and the trademark peppery spice.
On the nose the fruit is orange, with the first sip revealing blackcurrant too. There are strong citrus notes throughout with lime and tangy marmalade to the fore over an earthy, bready base. The yeast profile is at the cleaner end of the Saison scale, but the classic fruit-spice character is in full effect. There’s a lively mouthfeel, medium body and a crisp, dry finish.
